I accidently watched 40 minutes of cartoons this morning. It’s one of those things where, I don’t actually watch what’s on the treadmill TVs at the gym but I turn them on in addition to my music. I find even a moving picture in front of me helps abate my boredom with running in place. I got in to whatever was on the i-Pod and never bothered to turn the channel. At the end of my workout I looked around and felt embarrassed having watched “The Emperor’s New School” that whole time while my neighbors were watching CNN.
I don’t even like cartoons. I find them annoying. I once had a boss with whom this was a major point of contention. Although I copped to liking some of the more intelligent animated series (South Park, King of the Hill, Powerpuff Girls) he was insistent that my dislike for Looney Toons made me a bad person. It was silly, because I don’t see anything wrong liking cartoons. I just don’t find anvils and annoying little voices to be spectacularly entertaining. And he had a problem with this. I don’t miss working for that guy very much.
Well. This is not my First Day of Spring outfit, as I had initially planned it. I will save the specialness I had planned until The First Day of Spring That Actually Feels Like Spring. Although it did warm up enough for me to take these pictures, I don’t find a pile of fresh snow to be very springy.
I really adore this outfit though. The top is just very pretty. Somewhat uncharacteristic for me, because I usually shun ruffles. Particularly, neck ruffles. My distaste for cartoons extends to me not wanting to look like one and ruffles tend to overwhelm petite girls. Alas, I was a sucker for this print and luckily was able to subdue it by adding the cardigan. I’m not sure what I’ll do in the summer, because I definitely plan on wearing the top again. Stay tuned.

So pretty! (I added a bunch of extra Es and Ts to that word for emphasis, but then I erased it because my grammar OCD got the best of me. You will just have to imagine the emphasis.)
If this isn’t you First Day of Spring outfit, I can’t wait to see what it is! I really like the cardigan, it’s very flattering. And the top, I like that too. Damn it, I just like the whole effing thing!
I love the multi-layer look and the crop sweater. I usually shun ruffles too, but it totally works here.
I was on the elliptical once and spongebob was on (HILARIOUS if you’ve never seen it) and all of a sudden, I burst out laughing with one of those BBAAAAHAAHAHAHAHA type laughs in a silent gym. All my neighbors watching MsNBC and CNN had to look over at me and I was a tad embarrassed. Oh well, I heart Spongebob so whatevs people.
I love this one!! You give me ideas on pants all the time with your posts. You look lovely.
Fantastic outfit! That top is beautiful…I love they grey and red.
In general our fashion favorites seem to be pretty similar but here we differ – I LIVE for ruffles! That red necklace is gorgeous.
I love the print. I also love grey and red together. I wore a lot of both together this winter.
I love to look at ruffles, but always feel ridiculous in them. That combo looks like something that wouldn’t overwhelm me though.. gives me hope
I love those pants!
That top is so pretty! My heart totally goes out to you with the snow and all. Few things crush my spirit more than snow in the spring. Ugh!
I love the top, the pattern is fantastic and I am a huge fan of ruffles, so I have no issue there!
Yep, love this outfit as well. The print on the top is fantastic, and it looks great with the cropped cardigan and red beads. I hope the snow melts soon!
Pretty top!
I actually quite enjoyed “Tiny Toons”. But “Animaniacs” was head and shoulders above all of that. I was a freshman in high school and I would run home to watch it. I just drove by the Warner Bros. lot the other day with my mother and she told me that the Animaniacs lived in the water tower.
