Good evening, kids! I almost forgot that I was going to blog tonight! Apparently, I have already adjusted to the lazy life all over again. But not so fast! I did get dressed and take pictures this morning. And in the end, I did indeed recall my intentions to document it all right here. So yay.
At this point, the hardest part is coming up with a title. I am like drowning in a plethora of good music, y’all. In addition to a handful of mix CDS (mix CDs make my life) I picked up the new CAKE album and someone finally hooked me up with the latest Kanye. Awesomeness. I’ve also got my hand in some music-related stuff for the new blog of which you’ll find out about soon enough. It’s all amazing. I find myself changing CDs out at every stoplight. Jotting down lyrics in my Blackberry. I’m just having a regular musical renaissance. Feeling very inspired after months of being bogged down in Christmas music and crap. And I love it. Actually, I think my whole life is starting to feel a little inspired again. And I love that too.
So anyway. What’s new with all of you guys? What are you listening to? What’s inspiring you these days? I want to know all about it.
You know who inspires me a lot? Sara of Orchids in Buttonholes. I feel like every time I catch up on her blog I find new and cute ideas, particularly when it comes to shirt dresses. She just knows how to make them work. So then every time I read up, I get inspired to try my hand at the only one I own, which is this one.
Previous rounds with this shirt dress did not fare so well, but I’m pretty pleased with today’s rendition. I have to tell you guys, it’s still really weird getting dressed every day post-project. I no longer really have a goal in mind, so I’m always torn between trying really hard and …not. I still have the mentality of wanting to remix and make new looks. Like, I have a guilt complex when I repeat stuff. But I also feel relieved by the lack of pressure. Like, what bitches? I just put together 365 different outfits, and now I’m just going to throw crap together and call it good. What? But really, I still care about how I look coming and going. That’s never going to go away. So right now, I’m trying to form new habits. I’m making it a goal to make at least a couple of new outfits each week while also busting out and enjoying the old favorites. I think that’s balance that I’m striving for.
So anyway. That’s my story right now. I’m going to go to bed now, but I wish you all a wonderful weekend. I’ll be back Sunday with some seriously exciting stuff. Check it.

I often wonder what I will do post blog, it’s nice to know that life doesn’t end or one doesn’t become instantly style-less….
Shirt dresses are hard for me but, if they have some shape to them I love them. This rendition looks really cute on you. I especially love the necklace
I’m so glad your life is feeling more inspired lately!! It’s a nice feeling, ain’t it?
Also, you’re totally channeling Sara with this outfit, and I love it!
Love it Jenny! Love that necklace too!
I am hanging my head in shame. I know no new music today. Unless you count some new Spanish music that my husband introduced me too that I LOVE.
Lady, I’m listening to the new Cake CD right now! I’m alternating between that and Grace Potter and the Nocturnals.
And I completely agree with you, Sara’s a darling. I love your shirtdress here – I normally don’t wear them because it just seems like too many opportunities for buttons to burst and me to flash little old ladies, but your approach solves the problem!
Sara is awesome, isn’t she? One of my absolute favorites.
I only own one shirt dress also, and this makes me want to try it again. You look great! And I can’t wait to hear about the new blog.
Hope you have a great weekend!
So, I have been meaning to ask you forever and a day — Where do you work? If you don’t want to say here in public can you message me on facebook? I need to know where your leggings come from because i really like them and I can’t seem to find a pair that I’m hundred percent in love with yet. Also, there are a few other items of clothing that you’ve worn in the past that make me ooh and ah and i’m like WHERE IS WORK, DAMMIT? But i’ve never asked so… i’m dumb. Please advise! xxoo
Yes! I am finally feeling inspired as well!
I was home for the holidays for a whopping five weeks and it is so nice to be back on a schedule.
I’m lovin’ this shirtdress look on you, I personally can’t seem to really be able to make them work. So I usually end up just tucking them into pants, haha.
p.s. Congrats on making your one year mark, what an accomplishment
You look great Jenny, I like the shirtdress, you fit it well
Thank you so much for the sweet mention! I ADORE this look – that shirt dress is awesome as a topper, and I love how the wide belt creates a gorgeous silhouette. You look fantastic!
Cute! The necklace totally makes it.
