My friends! Comrades! I’m so glad to hear from so many of you, that I am not the only one losing my significant other to dumb guy TV. Thank you. And hello to a few new faces who stopped by! Excitement.
This makes me feel good too, because lately I’ve had a few people imply that they don’t “get” my blog. To which I’m like, what is there to get? I am Jenny. I like clothes. I am not going to wear the same outfit twice for the entirety of 2010. Because I do like clothes, I try to make most of the outfits pretty or cute or at least fun. Or something. That’s really it. That’s the point of this blog. And along the way I write about whatever randomness I may have to impart to you that day. For better or for worse.
It kind of reminds me of this nifty calendar I had, when I worked at a desk job. It was one of those 365 days calendars dedicated to purses. A year’s worth of purses and every day, my co-workers and I looked forward to the reveal of the purse. People from other parts of the office would stop by from time to time to check out the purse of the day. Dudes included. Dudes secretly loved the purses. There would be much speculation on holidays or special occasions what the purse might be. After a weekend away from our desks, we’d all gather around to catch up on the purses. The calendar was a great source of amusement for all involved.
Anyway. I’ve begun to feel kind of like that calendar. Every day, I get dressed up. You check in. You approve or disapprove. May warrant commentary. May not. May be your favorite thing you’ve ever seen. Maybe you’ve seen better. Maybe you liked yesterday better. Maybe you’re really looking forward to tomorrow. Yeah. It’s kind of like that.
As for me, I’m kind of up in the air about today’s installment. I’ve been dying to wear my little poplin dress since I bought it. I love its little pockets and brass buttons. Every time I see it on the hanger, I swell with excitement to wear it. I still love the dress, I’m just not sure about this version. I think it’s because I am so over winterizing. Something that enthralled me a mere month ago, now just depresses me. I got a fever, that no pretty scarf, nor patterned tight can cure. This dress deserves to swing in the breeze, not cling for dear life to a bunch of layers.
But soon enough, little dress. Soon enough.

You always wear things I would never dare to wear. Like textured white tights!

Your blog has a purpose. For the first 4 years of mine I just chatted about my kids. and how they drove me crazy. LOL Can you believe people actually came to read that? Probably to ha ha ha over the fact that their kids aren’t quite as naught as mine are.
But on to today’s outfit. Adore it! Love the tights. Love the shoes, love the dress, I even love the scarf! I’m so over cold weather clothes too though. I want fun summery stuff. Someday. Someday.

That is a very sweet dress and I love the tights! I also have a thing for sweet dresses with pretty brass buttons, such a vintage vibe.

My dad has one of those daily calenders. it has like inspirational quotations on it or something. problem is he’s had it since about 1998. he’s too cheap to buy a new one and the pages are on a spiral so he just keeps re-using it.
I have to stop talking about my dad in your comments…
I need to get some white tights. I tend to wear a lot of black skirts/dresses and white tights would be great for spring 🙂

I love your blog – so glad to have found it! Those tights are fantastic! Such a fantastic detail. I completely agree with you – I’m done with winterizing. If only the weather would catch on! This is a fantastic outfit, though – I love the winterized version and look forward to the non-winterized one.

I adore your tights today and looking down at my very bare and very white legs, I believe I should have joined you in wearing tights. I want to go out and buy lovely patterned tights, but I keep thinking, “Warm weather is just around the corner. What’s the point?”
