Do you ever have a week go by where you felt non-existent? I’ve noticed this phenomenon, which happens to me every six weeks or so. You know, when you’re trying to reach out to friends, trying to get things accomplished, trying to say what’s up world? And no one will return your calls or your emails or even your Facebook wall posts?
It’s always a pendulum swing though. Because intevitably once I give up on everyone and get all misanthropic, my lines of communication will suddenly be blowing up. Jerks.
But anyway. You know who else is quiet lately? YOU GUYS. What gives? Did I do something wrong? Is there something in my teeth? I want to know – What’s new? How is your summer treating you? What fun things are you doing in your free time? What music are you listening to? What movies have you seen? Tell me everything!
Will it help if I wear a fun yellowy dress?
New photo taking strategy! It turns out that, if you setup shop to take pictures near anything that is even remotely a landmark, you can enjoy relative privacy. No one questions the tripod. No one bothers you. No one even stares at you. I stopped off at this local “Historical Point of Interest” to take my photos today, because it looked pretty deserted unlike my usual parks. This building is called a milk house and was built after the first herd of Jersey cows were brought into town. (And educational too!) I personally like this place because the small and low-seated window makes me look tall.
Anyway. I told you it was a fun dress! I just can’t resist a good print. I’m also a huge fan of novelty details, such as the fact that it unzips all the way down. This will come in handy… well…never. But it’s still fun! I had a lot of ideas for the dress, but I wanted to do something besides black accessories or more yellow. I tried a handful of combinations but ultimately went with brown. Brown and yellow would usually strike me as too autumnal, but I think it works here because the dress is so very bright.
And anyway, there will be time for other combinations as summer wears on. This dress is my new BFF, and we have many more good times in store. Assuming, of course, that she replies to me on Facebook.

I’ve finally concluded that I don’t care if people see me taking photos. So maybe they will think I’m a narcissistic twit, or maybe they will think I’m a tortured artist. But I went to the beach last night and set up the tripod next a whole horde of people and no one even gave me a second glance.
My friends are the same too. Before summer it’s all “we have to get together, we’ll go out every weekend!”, and then I spend every friday night home alone blogging.
And the yellow dress is quite adorable, I love the zipper. I got a similar dress recently, only with red flowers.

Here for the first time, and loving your dress. Well done!
As for the how is summer going part… I am still sleeping with a down comforter – and I am not on the south hemisphere…

Oh my gosh, I LOVE the dress, white blouse, belt, and especially where the picture is taken. It all just goes, you know? Sorry, if I go overboard with the picture taking, but you know, I love the pictures! I also truly love your outfits and this one especially. The yellow just pops and is so summery.
Wow, my only child at home now is now gone to camp for a week. I started reading a book that I received for Mother’s day from my oldest child. 532 pages and I have read 325 in the past two days. Am I boring or what? Anyway, that is what I have been doing and I am also doing my best to post on your wonderful site!
Here’s to everyone posting!!

I’ve learned most people will blow you off for one reason or another. My ride or die(the term we use instead of bff because we are straight gangster) and I were discussing this today, actually. See, she lives just outside of Atlantic City, which is obviously where many of our other friends go out. She won’t be 21 for another month, however, and people routinely ignore her requests for them to come down, citing the distance as their excuse. When she can drink legally I will bet anything they change their tune. Then they’ll be all over her place, the self serving bastards! And I think she ought to tell them to get an effing room. Yes, I am a bitter person.
But your dress did cheer me up, it’s very fun! I like the yellow with brown…I think the main anchor being white saves it from the autumn palette. And who could resist the complete frontal zip up?!

Very cute outfit. Well done!
I’m here! I’m reading!
This summer, I’m learning and growing. Just not physically. I don’t want any more waistband-type growing. Not during bikini season. :-p
Love,

I love the zipper too! So cute.
Sorry about the relative quiet! Lots of changes going on in my neck of the woods and so I’ve been preoccupied – nothing in your teeth, I promise! 🙂

I really like everything about this outfit. Particularly how you used a button down shirt as a cardi. Awesome.

I usually don’t comment because I read the posts like a week later! I have my catch up days every now and then, but rarely comment. It’s like showing up late to a movie… you’re usually better of slipping in then making a scene.
New? nothing
Summer? rains every day off i have. of course.
Fun… wait, Free time? I don’t have much…. Work Part time, two demanding online classes that are only 6 and 8 weeks long so its all crammed together, and I do hair in my free time for extra $.
Music? Incubus as always… rotating CD’s in the car
Movies? I rented one from redbox the other day– Youth in Revolt with Michael Cera. It was funny, worth my time watching it I suppose. I wish I had actually remembered the last time I WENT to the movie theather— maybe I should bring that up to my boyfriend lol…

Hey Jenny – Rachna from RaniPink here (again).
First, obviously love the dress. Brown and yellow are one of my favorite combos and I totally think it works year-round. Rock it.
Second – and this is gonna seem really random.. because it is…
I was reading a blog of a MIDDLE SCHOOL friend of mine that grew up down the street from me (http://www.iheartcolorado.com) and all of a sudden you popped up in the comments. Made me smile that you two are in the same yoga class and now all 3 of us are connected… at least through the inter-web. See, random, right?
Anyway – enjoy the rest of the week!

first of all: i adore that dress. it might have something to do with my recent lust for yellow. i have no idea what happened. i used to dislike yellow. now i want yellow everything. it’s very bizarre. so far i’ve only indulged in a tank top and my new purse/bag for work. anyway, you look super cute and i love it!
what have i been up to? work. that’s really it. i have no idea how i will manage when my hours get bumped up in a week. i already feel like all i do is work and clean the kitchen.
as far as music goes i’ve returned to old favorites (like, high school old) as they are devoid of emotional landmines. nothing like ranty stompy music to make you feel awake on your commute.
nothing much to say about movies. i saw Prince of Persia with my Mom today for her birthday. it was as awful as i thought it would be. waiting anxiously to go see Inception the week after my birthday.
and i know i’ve been saying this, but i really wanna get together. i should get my July schedule in the next two days. maybe we can plan a date when i know what’s what?

I have to agree. It’s quiet. I’ve been running around like a crazy person because of work so perhaps that is part of why I have been quiet. My apologies.
What happened to summer, seriously? I am overworked at work and I feel like it’s great out til I get off! And then it rains. But I am still a runner/swimmer/strength trainer person in my ‘free time’ and I recently got back into dancing.
As for movies, I don’t tend to watch ’em. Saw Alice in Wonderland (The Tim Burton one) on Father’s Day and thought it was pretty cute but the story line was a bit shallow. As for this outfit, I must comment. I am on a yellow kick of late as well! I was gifted with some awesome yellow peep toe shoes for a wedding a month ago and ever since then I have been incorporating them into my clothing choices.

that dress is amazing. I love everything about it.
I’ve been rediscovering some old music favorites of mine from years ago: the weakerthans, the weepies, rainer maria, rilo kiley…
and i haven’t watched a lot of movies lately, though i did find time to watch one i’d not seen in years, but it really a beautiful movie: imagine me and you.
