Hello, hello!

Is everyone at home tonight, watching new TV shows? I haven’t decided what’s worth getting into this year. Honestly I abandoned all of my mainstays last season because they all went in the tank on me. It was a sad TV season for me, as I gave up on “Desperate Housewives”, “Ugly Betty”, and “The Office.” I even ditched  out on “Glee,” although I may revisit it. Maybe it’s just a lack of free time on my part, but I just couldn’t find it in me to care anymore. And I detest reality shows. Every once in a great while I get sucked into one, but for the most part I just don’t get it. “Dancing with the Stars”? Really? Okay maybe I could see the appeal if there were actual stars involved. I do love me some dancing. But Aurdina Patridge? C’mon.

Well, I’ll always have “Mad Men” and “30 Rock.” I think I’ve mentioned that the husband and I are also big Netflix fans. So we are attempting to plow through another season of “Brothers and Sisters” so that we can pick up the last seasons of “Lost” and “House.” When we’re between shows we go on “Dexter” kicks. But none of this reality b.s. Give me scripted drama any day. I don’t even care if it’s completely unrealistic. I’ll take a smoke monster any day over Brisol Palin in sequined spandex.

Not sure what’s up with the odd facial expressions. All my pictures look like this today. Possibly because I am feeling not the greatest and I’m not sure what’s up. Probably just a little under the weather but hopefully it’s nothing. I cannot afford to be sick right now! Time to beef up on my vitamins. I’ve been slacking. That, on top of being on the go constantly and the changing of the seasons. I gotta watch my back.

This dress is thrifted. You’ve actually seen it recently during theme week as part of my yellow day. Only you saw the inside of it. It’s reversible. Props to the original distributor, Old Navy, for that one. Have I ever mentioned how much I hate Old Navy? It’s true. I hate it only slightly less that I used to. Many years ago there was a nasty snowstorm where I live and it took out our local Old Navy. The roof completely collapsed in and it was shut down for a long time while they rebuilt it. Its disrepair thrilled me so completely that I actually ventured out mid-snowstorm to take a picture. I then framed the picture and it sat proudly on my coffee table. I mostly found it humorous, but it also marked one of the very few occasions ever, when winter and I were on the same team.

This dress is a prime example though, of what I don’t like about Old Navy. It’s completely cute in appearance. But terribly terribly cut and ill-fitting. It’s tight on the hips, baggy in the waist and top part liked to sag to one side all day long. I’ve found this to be the case with 99% of all things I’ve purchased at Old Navy and thus I pretty much avoid it. Still, once passed on to Goodwill the adorable print of the dress caught my eye. Treason was committed. And here I am paying the price for it today, every time I moved and felt the dress bunch and sag all at once. Who even knew that was possible?

I really like today’s outfit though. Someone accused me of looking entirely too summery in this, today. But I think she meant it as a compliment, though. I knew it was a little resort-like after I styled the dress but I didn’t really care. I thought the colors were at least autumnal enough. Even if all that’s lacking is a turban. (Not for lack of want, mind you.) I’m still more or less on vacation. Maybe I want to parade around in gold jewelry and flowy garments. Okay? In truth, I tried a number of heavier accessories and cover-ups. In the end, this just looked the prettiest.
