Wow. It’s super late tonight. I’m just going to throw this up lickity split-like before the midnight deadline. I’m up late for a Thursday night but gearing up for a long working weekend. Hooray*

Here’s another from the Stuff I Haven’t Worn Yet pile. This skirt is actually one of the first thrifted pieces I picked up a year ago in anticipation for beginning my project. Super cute, Ann Taylor, brand new with tags and on special at Ye Old Goodwill. It totally inspired me for the adventure that lay ahead. It got hung up with the rest of my skirts and the rest as they say, is history. But history nearly forgot my poor little red skirt.
Now that the time of year finally feels befitting of its heavy fabric and tweedy texture, it was time to give the skirt its moment. Apparently I never tried this skirt on when I got it because it required several safety pins to fit right. I’m still not super pleased with the fit. I think a new wardrobe rule of thumb for me is to stop bothering with things that don’t fit. Still, I was determined to get one good wear here.
This skirt feels rather Christmasy so I wanted to steer clear of making it too somber. Jewel tones just seemed more fitting. Textured tights for warmth but if anything can make me glad for crispness in the air it would have to be fun tights. I may hate cool weather but I love me some layers. I guess you take what you can get.
